Do you remember that joke from the 90’s?… A lost helicopter pilot flies by tall building with a handwritten sign that reads, “WHERE AM I?” The people in the building quickly respond with a large sign, “YOU ARE IN A HELECOPTER”. That’s when he realizes he’s flying over Microsoft.
One of the most difficult concepts to communicate in high-tech culture is that data DOES NOT EQUAL information. We are constantly pounded with useless data. Information, conversely, is that which informs. Information requires structure and context.
I had the idea for this map while driving through Pheonix, OR. It’s accurate but is not particularly useful.
